Description

IPSEA are working with the Department for Education to raise awareness of the new Law concerning special educational needs and disability.  The project is running until March 2016 and the Development Officer for the project in the North East is Linda Fletcher.

Linda has a nursing and midwifery background but she left that profession to care for her son who has special educational needs and physical disabilities.

Her role is to get to know local parent and carer groups in the North East, and also to recruit and support new volunteers.  IPSEA want to make sure that parents and carers know how to get information, advice and support so they can achieve better outcomes for their children.

Linda can offer a free introductory session for local parent/carer groups who are able to provide a venue, to explain who she is and how she might be able to support your group.  She can also send regular and up-to-date information about what is happening for children, young people and their families in the world of special educational needs and disability.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with IPSEA, please see the attached information document.
