Tyne Metropolitan College

TyneMet is ideally located between Newcastle city centre and the beautiful North Tyneside coastline.  Their main campus is situated on the Coast Road, just minutes away from the city or the coast.  Their dedicated Sixth Form College, Queen Alexandra, is located a few minutes down the road at Hawkeys Lane in North Shields.

From your studies to all the extra curricular activities on offer for you to get involved with, TyneMet is full of fun and exciting opportunities for you.

Students get involved in a wide variety of activities and events across the College calendar. 

At TyneMet they are proud to be a recognised regional leader in education excellence, and this includes their Foundation Learning Programmes.

As a Foundation Learning Student you will find that your unique needs are met and you'll discover new skills which help you success in the future.

Extra support services are available to ensure your learning and development plan is personalised to suit your individual needs.

There are 10 different courses, providing you with the opportunity to gain new skills, experience and confidence across a range of areas. 

Criteria for access

Foundation Learning:  For students with learning difficulties/disabilities who require a more flexible approach to learning.  There are a range of courses aimed at students with different needs and abilities.

Mainstream - The Gateway Team has dedicated Student Advisers who will be more than happy to help you with any questions or concerns you may have about courses, careers or life at college in general.  You'll find the Advisers in the Gateway, their drop in centre located just inside the main entrance or email enquiries@tynemet.ac.uk .
