Your Personal Information and how we use it
Sunderland City Council and Together for Children is committed to ensuring your data is kept safe and secure, and will be accessed only when there is a clear need.
We will only use information collected lawfully in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and associated UK Data Protection legislation. We will not use any information we hold about you for any purpose other than that for which it was collected, unless we have obtained your consent beforehand.
What information do we collect?
We collect personal information when you register on the website for an online account, when you create an online service provider record, when you use the online Contact Us form and the Suggest a Service form.
The information is either needed to fulfil your request to be listed in the website or to enable us to provide you with a level of support. However you don't have to disclose any of this information to browse the website as a customer. If you choose to withhold requested information, we may not be able to provide you with certain services.
How is the information we collect used to help you?
Depending on how we receive this information we may process it in various ways.
- If you contacted us we may use your personal information to give you the information, support, services, or products you ask for.
- We use your information to keep a record of your relationship with us and for internal administrative purposes to let you know about changes to our services or policies.
- We use your personal information to look into, and respond to, complaints or other issues.
- We use personal data to carry out statistical analysis and research in order to help us to understand how we are performing and how we can improve our services and meet the needs of people that require our help.
- When we collect your data we may ask you for permission to send you information about our work or our services that we feel you would be interested in.
Do we share information about you with anyone?
We do not share your information with anyone. By providing your information and your consent the information we hold is available on the website.
How we look after your information
All information is held securely with organisational and electronic access controls to ensure it is secure both at rest and when in transit.
How long we will look after your information
The information you provide will be kept according to the timescale set out in our Retention Policy, unless you request that your information is removed. When we no longer need your information it will be destroyed securely by deletion of electronic records, there are no paper records.
Requesting access to your personal data
You can find out if we hold any personal information about you by making a 'subject access request' under the General Data Protection Regulation.
In addition, you have the right to request the rectification or erasure of your personal data, and to object to, or request restriction of, processing your data.

Cookies
