Oak Tree - We all need a break sometimes ...

Oak Trees is Resilience’s Specialist Short Break Service for those aged 8-18 or 14-25 situated in the heart of a large village close to Durham City with good travel links. At Oak Trees they understand that everyone needs a break from time to time and that a break needs to be enjoyable for everyone.

Parents and carers can relax, and enjoy the time their child or young person is away from home - knowing that Oak Tree can offer a safe place, that is always warm and welcoming; with opportunities to socialise; develop new skills and find new friends and interests.

Young people will be encouraged to be active and participate in a range of indoor and outdoor activities, they will be supported by a key team to learn meaningful life skills; and supported to build on their independence; confidence and self-esteem.

Resilience understand that there are times when overnight breaks for a young person, may be just a small part of a care plan. For this reason they are able to provide community based services, where there is a clear need for their dedicated team to support a child or young person.
