Sunderland Home Care Associates is structured so that people will always come first.

Personal Care in your own home
Our personal care services can help you with activities of daily living, which you would normally undertake for yourself, but are unable to due to illness, disability or frailty.  We ensure that we provide quality personal care services by:

  • Complying fully with the Care Plan developed with you
  • Ensuring a safe, sensitive, private and dignified care environment
  • Working with you to ensure that the services you are receiving meet your needs (any changes to your Care Plan will be made by discussing these changes with you first)

We can assist with all aspects of daily living tasks, including:

  • Washing
  • Bathing
  • Showering
  • Toileting
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Support with aids and appliances
  • Supervision of medication
  • Meal preparation
  • Cooking
  • Supporting to eat
  • Monitoring of safety

Domestic Help
Our Support Workers are able to undertake the light duties that you would usually carry out on a regular basis such as:

  • Washing/ironing
  • Cleaning bath, toilet and shower
  • Cleaning kitchen and white goods
  • Running errands
  • Meal preparation
  • Care of pot plants and pets
  • Vacuuming, dusting and polishing
  • Sweeping floors and paths etc and
  • Shopping.
  • Washing up

Academic support
This provides a personal and practical approach to academic study and opportunities in Sunderland colleges and university.  We provide specialist academic support for students with a wide range of difficulties and disabilities.

The support we provide is person centered to the students’ needs and requirements assisting them to enjoy the whole academic experience.  Our academic support service includes:

  • Note taking
  • Practical support
  • Library support
  • Sighted guide support
  • Social outings
  • Personal care

Independent FuturesThis offers 24 hour support to individuals with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, Autism Spectrum disorders, mental health issues, epilepsy and ADHD, to live an empowered and fulfilling life. 

The aim of Independent Futures is to provide individuals with a person centred approach to enable them to learn the necessary life skills to ensure greater independence in all areas of their life. 

We also offer an outreach service to people living independently in their own homes, who may need a little support with self-care, medication, shopping, emotional support and community inclusion.
