Together for Children are working very closely with all registered childcare providers in the city to try to ensure that there are sufficient places for all the children that need them during this period. Flooding is possible - be prepared This alert is issued for the high tide at North Shields at 18:00 today, Tuesday 14th January. Waves are forecast to overtop sea defences between 15:30 and 20:30 today, 14/01/2020. This is due to high spring tides combined with low pressure in the North Sea. The main areas of concern Whitley Sands Promenade; Seaburn Lower Promenade; Hendon Promenade; Seaham Harbour and Docks. Flooding to properties, roads and farmland is possible.
